In our newly versatile front space, we'll be showing "Roberta Paul: Ghostrider" - a new series of paintings that tackle the vastness of the cosmos and of family history. In "Ghostrider", Paul extends her ongoing interest in personal narrative into the realm of the stars, exploring paradoxes and confluences between mortality and the immortal, abstraction and figuration, and line and space - and producing great beauty along the way. We are also pleased to announce that Roberta Paul’s work is currently on view in “Pretty Sweet” at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park in Lincoln, through April 17.
And Behind the Scenes at Allston Skirt Gallery, new works on paper and canvas by painter Sean Foley, our resident master of strange animals and hybrid creatures whose twisted way with brush and pen draws with obvious pleasure on mankind's long fascination with the grotesque and the monstrous. We are also proud to note that Sean Foley’s work is concurrently on view in New York in the American Academy of Arts and Letters Invitational Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture, March 7-April 10, 2005.
